What impacts do you hope to have on the medical field?
After residency, she hopes to improve healthcare systems by paying more attention to the underserved areas. She says “Quality and cost of healthcare vary widely across the United States. Physicians today are not as readily accessible to patients as they would hope. There is also a need for greater efficiency as administrative costs are rising rapidly. Medication errors and medical mistakes compromise the quality of care. I believe that with the right combination of policy changes and greater public awareness of provider quality and total costs of care, we can start to address some of these problems”.
