The mission of the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s (PBRMC) Internal Medicine Residency Program is to create an educational environment that allows residents to attain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become excellent general internists who are committed to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards of medicine.
We seek to train physicians from diverse backgrounds to become leaders and champions of health for the underserved in all areas of need. Faculty are actively involved as teachers, role model clinicians, scholars, advisors, and mentors who are committed to helping trainees identify the niches of medicine in which they will be most successful and satisfied.
Beyond clinical readiness for practice and/or fellowship training, it is the program’s goal to cultivate residents’ innate desire to ask questions and to seek scientific answers. Furthermore, the program aims for each resident to understand a holistic approach regarding their own aptitudes, thusly empowering them to possess the confidence and centeredness to be dynamic, humble, and empathetic team leaders who are positioned to serve their patients.
